Increasing the Levels of Automation Rolling Production

Abstract


We propose algorithm of software for the roll gap calculation and the scheme APCS of rolling mill, which all designed to in-crease the level of automation and reducing the amount of products with the presence of "off-gage length" defect. APCS is based on software for IBM "Cutting production of section roll-ing mills", which have positive results during science research into JSC "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works". The software is based on information about size of billet, oxidation of metal when heating, the magnitude of heads and tails of scraps, the wear of rolls and possible a toler-ance on profile and nominal length of finished product. The software calculates the section of rolling metal based on this information. This section is provided the minimum metal lost in the "off-gage length" defect.
