The influence between the work rolls flexure and the metal sheet flatness and the bending control system of the hot plate mills

Abstract


The rolls cross-section deviation along the rolling process depends on many parameters. One of them is the rolls bending under the plate pressure. There are different ways of the bending compensation to remove the flexure and to eliminate the thickness deviation along the slab. This article describes different ways to control cross-section flatness of the sheet at the hot plate mills via automation bending control system. The main reasons of the rolls flexure under the pressure are considered. There are a number of reasons which have a significant influence on the bend of the work rolls. Consequently, there are some schemes how to control the rolls flexure. This article identifies advantages and shortages of each control scheme. For example, the brief description about the automation bending control system at the plate rolling mill 5,000 of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is shown. Analysis of similar automation control schemes show that the development of the computer models touch on the all features like the real industrial objects is very important.
