Research of Furnace Transformer’s Secondary Voltage Thyristor Regulator Working for Electric Arc Furnace’s Primary Current Stabilization

Abstract


Article deals main methods of furnace transformers (FT) secondary regulating, used for electric arc furnaces (EAF). Mainly should be noted furnace transformer tyristor secondary regulator, which form the perspective sphere of electrometallurgy. Advances of using tyristor regulator compared with usual methods of EAF’s electrical regimes controled by FT are considered. Major tyristor regulator’s regimes controling and the spheres of using are defined. The results of research, consisted of EAF’s electrical characteristics with tyristor regulator working for stabilization FT’s primary current are represented. For research the mathematical model of FT-EAF’s electrical circuit created by Simulink application of Matlab computing platform is used.
