Energy Losses in Electric Networks with Variable Frequency Drives of the Oil-Production Machine

Abstract


Currently, frequency-regulated electric drives are widely used in technological installations of oil production. Along with technological advantages the use of controlled electric drive has negative consequences arising from higher harmonic currents in the mains, which can substantially increase the energy losses in electric networks. Invited to take these losses when evaluating the performance of controlled electric drive and reducing higher harmonic current. Pointed to the need for regulation not only voltage harmonics, but also current.
